City Provides Assistance for Central Java Residents and Gojek Drivers Domiciled in Jakarta

In order to stop COVID-19 spread, Jakarta Provincial Government implements Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) throughout Jakarta regions. This policy, surely gives impacts to people's economy.

Thus not only Jakartans, but also non-Jakartans who affected by COVID-19 can get this assistance

Thus Jakarta Government provides social assistance (Bansos) for Jakartans and non-Jakartans whose domicile in Jakarta and do activities in Jakarta. Especially, for 7,558 residents with Central Java ID Cards (KTP) who live in Jakarta and 55,599 online motorcycle taxi drivers, in this case Gojek. Bansos also provided for 12,071 caretakers of worship places (Mosque, Musalla, Church, Monastery, Temple, Pagoda).  

Bansos was handed over symbolically by Jakarta Setda's Economy and Financial Assistant, Sri Haryati to the representative of Central Java Residents Association and representative of Gojek's Partners at City Hall, Wednesday (5/20).

Zita Appreciates City for Better Packages at Second Phase of Bansos

According to her, social assistance was given as an implementation of Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 33/2020 concerning Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) Implementation in Handling COVID-19 in DKI Jakarta.

"It is reasonable for Jakarta, as the capital city, to have residents from other provinces carrying out activities in Jakarta as well as improving economy in Jakarta. From the previous limited meetings, President also instructed residents from other provinces in Jakarta to stay in Jakarta. We are committed to help them by providing this social assistance. Thus not only Jakartans, but also non-Jakartans who affected by COVID-19 can get this assistance," she conveyed as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

Her side cooperated with Central Java Provincial Liaison Office Representative in Jakarta to distribute Bansos for Central Java residents. While for Gojek partners, her side cooperated with PT. Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa (Gojek).

It takes two days to distribute the assistance in five Jakarta municipalities with assistance from Social Sub-agencies in each regions. While for worship places caretakers, her side cooperated with DMI, PGPI, PHDI, WALUBI, and MATAKIN to distribute the assistance.

For information, Jakarta Government has distributed Bansos since April 8, 2020. In the first distribution, Bansos was given to 1,194,633 families while for the second phase, her side distributed it to 1,147,532 families.

Currently, her side also distributes second phase of Bansos to 2,451,708 families in Jakarta through cooperation with Social Ministry.

"We divide our work with Social Ministry where they cover assistance for around 1.3 million people, while we cover 1,147,532 people. Gojek partners and Central Java residents get assistance from Jakarta City Budget (APBD)," she added.

Preventing homecoming, she reminded Central Java Provincial Liaison Office Representative to monitor Central Java residents movement in Jakarta ahead of Eid al-Fitr. It is in line with Jakarta Governor's instruction that PSBB period is extended until June 4, 2020 thus people are encouraged to remain stay at home and not leaving Jakarta.

"Lastly, we hope it can be useful for you all. Together we pray for COVID-19 outbreak to end soon. Surely we can face this problem together," she closed.
